Currently there are being touted claims that housing regeneration projects are in chaos.

This is not my experience in Weston. Local residents, including a number from Holy Trinity Church, enjoy an excellent working relationship with the council team and the developers, Bouygues.

The site itself at Weston Shopping Parade is as clean and tidy as you would expect an office, not a single health and safety incident and progressing well to schedule.

Danielle Friedman-Brown, council project manager, has gone the extra mile in involving the local school in hoarding artwork, consultation of residents in naming new streets, and a number of local people are employed on the site.

We are also likely to get a brand new community library as part of the deal, even if Cabinet decides in July that the council will not manage it.

We could not have had better service in Weston.

Personally, I do not believe that Councillor Warwick Payne should resign. He is a conscientious, sympathetic and level-headed councillor and should remain at his post.
