Richard Grant has a very prejudiced opinion of the result of our waking up and leaving the undemocratic EU (Letters April 4).

His so called, non partisan, Open Europe think tank tells of an enormous cost in leaving the EU. The reverse is actually the truth.

The EU are so scared of losing our contribution to the EU that they invent all manner of reasons to persuade us to stay and continue to finance them, readily believed by members or the Lib Dem party.

There are many reasons for the imminent collapse of the Lib Dem's but chief among them are their reluctance to accept the democratic principle of listening to the voices of the majority and to their disgraceful support of the political party that introduced the bedroom tax as a means to improve the lot of their rich property owning members.

I have reservations about Cameron's intentions to deliver the in/out referendum in 2017 in an attempt to win votes, as he would have done it in his only term as Prime Minister if he had any intention so doing.

He is still talking about getting better terms by remaining in the EU which all of us that are not Lib Dem's know to be impossible.

Looking at the TV debate on Thursday I was struck by the fact that the only leader able to say where he would find the money to improve the NHS etc was Nigel Farage, which makes me doubt the veracity of the other leaders.

Especially Nicola Sturgeon of the Support Nasty Putin party, when she advocates removing Trident from Scotland.

This will help her friend Putin, but not the Scottish employees in the Naval bases there.
