ONE can safely assume from recent headlines that a large number of homes will no longer be at the mercy of the taxman upon the death of the owner.
But if the taxman can be forced to keep his hands off property, what will stop the local authorities from grabbing it, to cover the costs of palliative, or any, care?
Presumably nothing.
