THROUGH your newspaper I feel I have to write about something which took place that truly amazed me.
Living as I do now in the retirement village of Grove Place we are able to take advantage of various activities and I am so glad I went on a trip on the Solent.
Now that I went to the one that said it was a trip on the Solent.
I am amazed at what I saw.
Living for some 50 years in Southampton I knew my way around but this trip opened my eyes to a part of Southampton which amazed me.
Leaving from Hythe Marina in the MV Alison Macgregor at 6pm we spent two hours seeing a part of this city I was unaware of.
Seeing the activity of the docks area was an eye-opener in itself but although I have taken the ferry many times to the Isle of Wight and driven down to Calshot many times this trip was an eye-opener.
The amazing thing is that the whole thing was with the help of the volunteers who give their time and effort to give us disabled people wonderful entertainment.
My thanks to them all.
