The EU is appalling WELL, well.
Jean Romsey’s perfectly reasonable assault on the European Union (In my view... June 25), certainly hit home, bringing not one but three local Europhiles (Grant, Biden and Nadolny) rushing to defend that appalling institution.
In her response (July 18), Ms Nadolny claims that through the EU, “...we Europeans” (count me out, Linda) can, among other things, “buttress our security”.
Reality rather contradicts this, our loss of border-control now enabling the free movement (into our previously sovereign nation) of gangsters and people-traffickers, many of them with criminal records, from eastern Europe.
Furthermore, with countries like Italy and Hungary feeling obliged to grant EU citizenship to the masses from the Mediterranean, in desperation to simply move them on, the Islamic State contingent (or one of its clones) may already be getting its feet on our soil.
