RE: FLYTIPPING leaks, Echo Thursday 13/8/15.

No point in reporting it from my experience; the council are not interested.

Some years ago, whilst changing my curtains, I observed a van and 4x4 vehicle pulled up at the rear of my house and proceeded to unload dozens of old tyres, putting them one on top of the other.

Inside the tyres, they piled high old batteries.

I told the council both registration numbers, vehicle models and colour and description of both men down to what they were wearing and even the tattoos they had on their arms.

This pile of junk stayed outside my back gate for over a week before it was moved. No-one ever rang me back to be a witness if these two men were prosecuted, which I doubt.

Bearing in mind the route is used by school children, most of the tyres and batteries (containing acid) were thrown around the pavement and road. So even with the evidence I have them, nobody seemed interested.

So save yourself time and cost of calls to the council, they are not interested.
