City gateway in no danger of subtlety
REGARDING the City Gateway in Swaythling.
It looks as if Southampton Planning Department may have got it right, because at the planning stage, as a resident of Parkville Road, we were told it was going to get us noticed as the gateway to the city of Southampton.
If it does win the prize of the Carbuncle Cup it will certainly get Southampton recognised, but for all the wrong reasons.
