MAY I thank you for reminding the Romsey electorate of three historical events in recent editions.

1. Yellow Dot Nursery, North Baddesley

2. Stanbridge Earls Fiasco.

3. Romsey Rapids 25 years on.

Yellow Dot – Many of the long-standing, salaried councillors at the time were strongly against this nursery.

Reasons given then were – not viable or necessary blight on the local green area. Parents had enough choices etc. Danger of traffic. Building would be an eyesore for the beautiful green location!

Several costly appeals were held. Eventually permission granted. Ofsted, the national controllers of schools/nurseries, give the same nursery full marks for a wonderful service. Congratulations to staff running the nursery.

Stanbridge Earls saga - Why has the story never been fully explained to the humble electorate?Who or what has kept the lid on this terrible happening.

Is it the local politicians (HCC or TVBC), police authority, legal controllers, education departments, or whoever ?

The suggestion in the letter in last edition suggests open it up to the global refugee saga.

TVBC says we should consider taking in refugees. How many long-serving councillors will do this kindly act?

Romsey Rapids - At the time several long-serving salaried councillors were strongly against this now successful project.

Will all those against at the time today tell the electorate they got it wrong. This is only three projects which highlights that the long-term few are controlling so many.

Hoping this may be published so the message goes out that the few are more than often wrong mainly because of no experience in the special subjects.
