MR JAMES Wyatt expresses his horror with regard to a couple who, while subject to serious legal inquiry, had their child taken away and given for adoption before the case was concluded.

When the case was featured on TV recently it emerged that the family court claimed that the decision was made in the light of all the evidence.

It is obvious that the court did not actually have all the evidence and should never have been allowed to finalise the adoption.

Somewhere is a couple waiting a long time to adopt, and who will have assumed that the child committed to their care was genuinely not able to be looked after by its natural parents.

How many will now wonder if their adopted child is this, or another, legally kidnapped?

Parents may become afraid to take an injured child to hospital for fear of false accusations, and should they fail to are liable to be accused of neglect.

Truly, MPs ought to act. Will they?
