I HAVE been agitating for three years now for the residents of Weston as a whole to be informed about the Community Forum meetings.
This was deliberately not done.
On Thursday evening residents of Canberra Towers came for the first time and the result is the Echo’s three-page expose of the shocking living conditions there. (Friday, 29 January).
So why weren’t residents told about the meetings? I know precisely why, and it’s not very creditable to certain residents of Weston, nor to the council officers involved. There should be some action taken over this.
Warwick Payne assures me that work has been done and that Canberra Towers as a building is in fact structurally sound.
