OH WHAT an excellent day the city of Southampton had on Sunday!
On behalf of Saints fans, old and young – those who were there in 1976 and their children and grandchildren alike, I’d like to give a huge round of applause to Mike Osman.
I understand he’s worked tirelessly for at least 12 months to get things sorted for the bus parade and the Mayflower gathering. You can see from the crowds, the happy smiling faces not only of those along the route but all the boys on the bus that everyone was so happy to be part of the celebrations.
The Mayflower show was a great success – accolades, film montages, comedy, guest appearances and interviews – all so nostalgic for those who were at Wembley in 1976. All excellently hosted by Garry Richardson – a comedian in his own right.
So a standing ovation for Mike Osman please.
