LAST Saturday’s events at Old Trafford, which thankfully ended without injury, served to highlight the situation which exists at St Mary’s Stadium, home of the Saints.

Had this happened at St Mary’s, would the ground evacuation have been conducted as smoothly? The half time parade around the ground was a mystery to those of us sitting in the Kingsland Stand as we could not hear or understand one word being uttered by the announcer.

The PA system at “our” ground is appalling, volume is not good and clarity is non existent. I have written more than once to the Saints and the latest reply from Mr Krueger on December 19, 2015 was: “We are aware that in some areas of the stadium the sound quality is not as good as we would like. Upgrading the system is under consideration, significant investment is required and should be carried out at a time most beneficial to the club."

No mention of us season ticket holders and regular supporters here.

The Saints will benefit from considerable TV money this season, are the supporters not worthy of receiving a tiny proportion of this by having a PA system as good as our team?
