THE local election dust has hardly settled, yet this Labour administration continue in its own egotistical way.

Has the leader of the council, Simon Letts, learnt nothing?

It’s only a matter of weeks (just before the local elections) since Labour were forced in a U-turn on the doing away with lollipop men/women, and yet here we are with the latest, thinking of doing away with the weekly bin collection: “Big stink over a load of rubbish” (Echo June 4).

Has Cllr Letts forgotten what happens to councillors who try to ride roughshod over the electorate wishes?

There is no doubt that in the local elections this year Cllr Letts and Labour were allowed to get away with an awful lot across the city’s Labour and Conservative wards.

Nonetheless when it came to Independent Coxford Ward, none of us forgot.
Look how a certain Sally Spicer never listened and voted to close down Oakland’s swimming pool, we remembered.

It may have taken the best part of four years before she came up for election, but she is now no longer a councillor.

If Labour dare take away weekly bin collections, people across the city Wards Labour and Conservative will remember, it may be another one year and seven months before the next local elections, but have no doubt people will remember.
