I REFER to a letter in the Echo on May 2 from Ken Street.
Mr Street, you are not naïve at all, you are probably like a lot of people in Southampton who have to put up with HMO’s in their area and are hopeful, and perhaps optimistic, that this council will get some sort of grip on the situation and stop the absentee landlords making a fast buck.
I expect Roger Bell, chairman of the Southern Landlords dissociation will bleat on at length about this. I sometimes wonder what sort of homes the landlords live in when you see the state of the properties that are HMO’s. Some of them are absolute pits!
