ATTENTION Wallington and north Fareham residents and anyone else who lives near the River Wallington: The Environment Agency will be holding a public consultation on Thursday, July 7 from 3-7pm at Wallington Village Hall about reducing flood risks.
Since the last meeting the agency has been refining and developing the options to ensure that realistic ways of managing the flood risk are identified.
They have identified six potential options which I will not go into too much detail on.
Loosely they involve raising flood walls, embankments and possibly roads to protect from flooding as well as improving flood resistance.
Over the longer term, upstream catchment management has been put forward.
Come along to find out more, meet the Environment Agency team and let them know your thoughts.
