YET again our council, in its wisdom, is pumping another 1.8 million pounds, making their contribution so far to date 3.75million, into the above project [the Studio 144 arts complex] for the privileged few, taking this money from capital grants such as road improvements which would benefit all.

Many council taxpayers I have spoken to have absolutely no interest in this centre and struggle to put food on their tables or get a decent place to live with a reasonable rent. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this project will need another cash injection in the future and the good old taxpayer will probably have their council tax increased, to pay for it.

In this project are more bars and restaurants, just what we need? Are there not enough already in Southampton, think how may council properties could be built for this 3.75 million.

The old saying “it’s easy to spend other peoples money and come election time, I for one have a long memory on how they are wastefully spending our contribution by means of council Tax. We pay your wages (unfortunately) and are not getting value for money.
