Re: The emergency repairs to the water main under the Swaythling Arch.

I reported this problem almost a year ago and it would have been nice of either the council or the utility company and Southern Water to let the local residents know of this action first.

The only notification I got was a message on our local FB page by a resident.

Although this closure is completely necessary to search the fault and carry out the repairs, prior notification and length of time could and should have been published in advance instead of causing once again a gridlock in the Mansbridge, Swaythling area.

Six days is a long time to close a community down without further traffic flow lights introduced to help ease the congestion it has caused during the school peak times.

More thought next time please.
