I AM so sorry for the man who couldn’t get an appointment for his wife without all this tremendous difficulty (December 5, Echo letters).
I go to Burgess Road surgery and have never had this kind of trouble.
There is always a doctor able to see me almost at once; very often it is my own GP and indeed they make a point of directing me to him whenever possible.
I cannot imagine waiting three weeks for an appointment or joining a long queue.
I simply phone the surgery. If necessary a home visit is arranged. The situation for this couple sounds horrific.
