AFTER reading in the Echo that Bath Lodge GP practice had been put in special measures I wanted to tell you of the experience of my family.

I have been registered at Bath Lodge Practice since my birth in 1943. The surgery was then in the front room of the doctor’s house in Bath Road.

It eventually moved to Bitterne health Center where I have attended and been cared for through the birth of my four children.

We have received numerous house calls for both children and foster children and always met with kindness patience and professionalism.

We also had excellent end of life care for my mother. 13 years ago my husband received a diagnosis of cancer and has now complex health issues and uses a wheelchair.

We also still care for a young women who was fostered with us, she also has many special needs.

All the staff at Bath Lodge, from receptionists, nursing staff in the treatment room and all doctors, have given us wonderful care, never were we hurried or made to feel a nuisance, we will miss them all and send our public thanks to them, with a special thank you to Dr Alison Budge.
