I AM calling upon your readers to join in, demanding that our European environmental protections are kept safe should Brexit proceed.

It concerns many British citizens, that the RSPB have recently warned that our nature could be under threat if we don’t strengthen conservation efforts, should we leave the European Union.

Nature does not have natural boundaries. We need to work in cooperation with all countries, to ensure that our threatened species and habitats remain preserved. Otherwise our precious nature, and environment could be damaged irreversibly.

Recently, Liberal Democrat MEP Catherine Bearder wrote to the Environment Secretary, Andrea Leadsom, to find out what protections will be put in place, to ensure the safety of threatened species here in the UK.

This Government, has committed to making sure that we are the first generation, to leave our environment in a better state than we found it.

Without quick action, this will only amount to yet another broken promise and in my own opinion, the future of the New Forest as a National Park.
