REPORTS in the media state that the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, is again ‘talking tough’ on the subject of Brexit by stating that the UK cannot expect to have unlimited access to the EU single market without allowing free movement of EU citizens.
Why on earth has no one from the Department of Trade and Industry asked the World Trade Organisation for the names of all the other countries outside the EU who have to abide by the same requirement?
And then demand to know why any country would be allowed to dictate such terms to any sovereign nation.
It would seem Mrs Merkel is beginning to understand that following the UK’s exit, Germany will have to provide a great deal more finance to keep the southern EU countries afloat and of course pay for some of the Turkish population, and their neighbours moving into the E.U. countries.
