A LONG, whingeing letter about so-called ‘hard Brexit’ from Southampton Liberal Democrat chair, James Read.

That phrase is mindlessly trotted-out by the eternally-sulking Remainers who originally coined it.

I rather prefer Michael Gove’s expression, ‘full Brexit’ as opposed to ‘fake’.

I just hope Theresa May is able to achieve what she set out in her excellent speech. Leaving the customs union is essential for making our future trade deals with the rest of the world – which gets no mention in Mr Read’s diatribe – and ending our membership of the single market – actually called the ‘internal market’ by Brussels – is equally necessary in order to finally regain control of EU immigration.

The signal failure of both Labour and the Lib Dems to acknowledge these two realities boldly illustrates their ideological isolation from the majority of British voters.

As for any increased food/fuel prices, much-shouted about by sour-grapes Europhiles... do you know what? I’m past caring, and am prepared to pay a little more for my country’s self-governing freedom.

Some things are about more than money, Mr Read.
