Southampton city council seems to have no qualms in depriving youngsters from any recreation whatsover.
Firstly it closed the magnificent lido, then the boating lake at the sports centre, now it’s announced that the common paddling pool is to be scrapped even though it could have been retained to exist alongside the new play area.
I must say I’m puzzled to be informed that the pool is only 17 years old, when I am in my middle eighties and remember vividly paddling in the pool as a boy in the 1930s.
