IT REALLY has to be said: why are my council taxes being given to bus companies to drive empty buses around the city all day? I now learn that Southampton Council, who claim to be practically broke, make £300,000 a year on automated cameras.
The motorist is starved of space around the city. This is like holding up an apple to a starving child and then punishing them for taking a bite. I now truly feel that the only way forward is for Southampton City Council to remove all subsidies from these private companies, and remove said bus lanes. Let these empty buses take to the same conditions as the humble motorist has to struggle with daily.
