RESIDENTS of Canberra Towers suffer from humiliation and discriminatory treatment by the city council.

On Wednesday, March 8 without any explanation, there was no water to Canberra Towers.

It is not joke – it really happened. There was no water from 6pm to the morning.

Unfortunately I was very sick with a bladder infection and I was on antibiotics – the doctor advised me to drink plenty of water, which was impossible because there was none.

No information about the cut off was passed to the residents and no explanation was given.

The second problem is the lift – there has been no lift for two years. Today when I went shopping I had to carry big bags upstairs to the top floor – it was not easy.

But there are disabled people living here, people with small children, elderly people - how can they get up to the top of the building without a lift?

The city council is very strict to the residents. If you forget to pay rent on time they are sending threatening letters and they are increasing council tax. I struggle financially to pay all the very high bills issued by city council - is this fair?
