THE impotent United Nations continue with their hand-wringing over the latest starvation catastrophe in Africa.
As is normal they waste time debating about fund-raising, knowing the usual culprits will donate little or nothing.
We in Britain are constantly challenged that we should do more, yet our current statutory overseas aid contribution is approximately £1000 million per month.
Granted, some of our millions are wasted on other rich nations, Ethiopian girl rock bands and other vanity projects which could be much better targeted to the present situation.
Nevertheless, if the other leading nations who shout the loudest throughout the European Union and world at large matched our efforts, the suffering we view on our TV screens could be contained or even ended.
Come on you lot, put your hands in your wallets.
