IN THE Echo of Saturday, March 11 it was reported that the Lib Dems are still trying to frustrate Brexit on the amendments that secure the right for 3.5 million EU nationals living in the UK.
The Government has already said it wants to secure EU nationals living in the UK – it is widely accepted the majority play an important role in our economy, but we have to recognise that the UK population is the fastest-growing in the EU and in the near future our population could be 80 million.
At the moment we have to import 40 per cent of our food and in the future that could rise to 50 per cent.
6,000 houses are going to be built near Fareham on the M27 which is already grid-locked and a further 1,000 at Calshot, and the A326 is at present also grid-locked.
The air pollution on main city roads in Southampton is above safe levels, so the Liberals are not only misguided, but irresponsible to the effects of uncontrolled migration to this country.
