SO IT seems the debate rambles on about whether or not skateboarders should be allowed to skate in Southampton’s Guildhall Square.

What exactly is the problem with them? They’re not harming anyone, so why kick them out?

What I find particularly ironic, is that they’re in the new alleged ‘cultural quarter’, where they’re actually creating more culture than the numerous chain restaurants that occupy the space.

READER LETTER: There's bigger issues for the council than skateboarders >>>

They’re getting exercise, out socialising, not involved in committing crimes and are doing something they enjoy.

Chain restaurants do not equal culture, if you ban these skateboarders, you might as well rename the ‘cultural quarter’ the chain restaurant quarter.
