Flowers have been placed on anti-terror barriers on Winchester High Street
SIR: A very big thank you to all those in public office, Winchester City Council, Hampshire County Council and Hampshire Police who authorised the installation of concrete lorry proof barriers in Winchester’s Pedestrian High Street.
Your actions have prevented the possibility of many families suffering grief from vehicle attacks.
However, arrows to show how to avoid the barriers defeats the object of the exercise!
These permanent barriers could benefit from some architectural input to fit into the street scene, perhaps as extra seating?
Well done to Winchester City Council for providing fantastic Christmas lights to the city, keep up the good work.
