ABOUT this time last year I called for Claude Puel to be sacked as Saints manager; the football was awful to watch.

Here we are again, a year later, and we are positioned lower in the league than last season. I think the chairman is right to say that the Virgil van Dijk situation has caused some disruption within the team. But the team have under performed this season. The likes of Lemina, Boufal, Gabiadini ,Tadic and Redmond haven't played well most of the season.

I had to laugh when I saw Van Dijk kiss the Liverpool badge last week after beating Everton FC because I thought his attitude when playing for Saints was terrible, even though he was under contract.

I hope we don't sign Theo Walcott because the guy will be 29 in a few weeks. Why pay ridiculously high wages for a player who cannot get into the Arsenal first team?

I do hope we stick with Pellegrino, because the guy seems like a decent manager, even if we are playing in the Championship next season.

The club have sold so many talented players over the last few seasons, something like this was bound to happen.
