I TOTALLY agree with Gloria Howard that the pensioner who took on an intruder and stabbed him in defence of his property was a hero.
He and his wife, who has dementia, had a terrifying time whilst their home was ransacked and his reaction was completely understandable.
In any case, had the burglar survived, he wouldn’t have received anywhere near a tough enough sentence.
He would probably have got a slap on the wrist and a community service order whilst he continued his drug habit.
Most of the crime today is drug related – burglaries and armed robberies etc. We are not tough enough on drug dealers and users and our justice system is a complete joke.
Personally, I would like to see the death penalty brought back for drug dealing because then, and only then, will crime in this country decrease overnight.
