HAVING read the headlines today, I read that a presenter of TV called Ant had been fined four days’ wages for dangerous driving. I also read that he wasn’t, like the rest of the public, tested for illegal substances.
While I have never watched the man, I feel that £86,000 was not enough. His crime was pure, naked carelessness and, praise the Lord, didn’t kill anybody.
Apparently he and one other presented a Friday night music show, a job that could be done by any local newsreader. However, I expect that this was all he could receive as punishment, but it made me think that he was getting more in wages than a footballer. Now, is that fair?
Somehow if you work it back far enough, his wages are supported by us, the lowly couch potato.
One bright fact that brightens my day is that I don’t have to pay for a TV licence.
Ant and who?
