WE have been told that Bramshaw post office is closing on February 4, despite the efforts made by us to keep it open. We have been told that there are alternative facilities at Cadnam and Landford, both about two miles away.
We have lost our bus service, so the only alternative for those without cars will be to walk. This will particularly affect the elderly. The road is a busy B road with no footway for most of its way.
We understand that outreach services are proposed for some areas. If our local shop could be the base for such a service, it would go a long way towards mitigating the problem.
I have written to our MP suggesting this and I am urging others in Bramshaw to do the same.
