IN reply to Mr P Neal of Eastleigh regarding my letter to sell the city art and turn the gallery into offices.
If Mr Neal lived in Southampton and not Eastleigh he might see why the people of Southampton are so fed up with how this once great city has been ruined by the way it has been run by the council over the last few years.
WestQuay might be a nice shopping centre but try getting to it by car on busy days, Ocean Village and the pier area could be great to bring people to Southampton with better planning.
The council has so many high pay people in jobs that they are not fit to do, they have offices all around the town because they employ so many. It is sheer madness.
So that is why I said sell the art and do away with the gallery. What’s the point of it anyway when most of the good art is locked away? If the Echo did a survey, I am sure an ice rink would come out on top over an art gallery!
MR B JONES, Southampton.
