IN view of the latest airgun attack on a young cat, surely it is now time to put airguns in tha same category as other guns and class them as dangerous weapons?
At the moment airguns can be bought without needing a licence and given to children as presents-in fact I know of one mother who actually taught her young son to shoot pigeons in the trees from her bedroom window.
Airguns should be treated as all other types of guns and only be made available on licence to responsible adults, before someone is maimed or worse killed.
They can be just as lethal in the wrong hands whether fired by accident or not.
