WHILE passing the site of the new Oasis Academy at Nursling daily, I have noticed upgrading works to the bus stops on the Romsey Road.
Although there is plenty of room on the southbound side, a bus pull-in space has not been provided, and on the northbound side the existing pull-in has actually been filled in!
Children will now be waiting on the very edge of the busy carriageway on both sides of the road.
When buses arrive there will be long and unnecessary tailbacks, and no doubt, dangerous attempts at overtaking.
Most of us are trying to reduce fuel wastage and seek to make life in general safer.
Can anyone tell me why the highways department seems hell-bent on increasing fuel usage and air pollution and making life as dangerous as possible for schoolchildren?
Is it drivers’ frustration that motivates them?
