When civic chiefs were pillars of the community
9:42am Wednesday 30th May 2012 in Readers' Letters
I’M old enough to remember when MPs and councillors were the pillars of our community, what happened?
The question I have to ask is, can we trust these people today?
Each and every day we read about another politician having an affair or fiddling their expenses, we see councillors who promise one thing and deliver another.
If a person in the political arena can’t be trusted in their home life, can they be trusted in their public one?
There is the argument that their personal life has no reflection on their public life, I totally disagree, if you’re caught with your political pants down, you should pay the price.
Do you agree?
William (Bill) Warrick, Portchester.
