Hands off our park

REGARDING Sainsbury’s plans at Stoneham Park, did anybody see the notices about the public enquiry dotted around Eastleigh? I have seen four!

One on the lamppost on the right just past Archers Road – hardly a main thoroughfare! And amazingly there are two attached to park railings facing Romsey Road.

Is there a hidden agenda here, is it me, or are these rather strange places to post public notices? Or could it be they only gave three weeks from posting these notices to lodge objections which was a date in March.

And, hands off our park. It is not the council’s to give away or sell – it belongs to the people of Eastleigh.

W. ROONEY, Eastleigh.

W. Rooney. "Hands off our park" There's no hidden agenda here, the council will decide on this planning application at their meeting on 4th Sept, well so they say, but as we all know they've already decided it's got the "green light" unless we stand up and oppose this monstrosity. It'll be the size of an out of town superstore right in the middle of Eastleigh. Look on the web site WWW.RESCUETHEREC.COM you'll soon be able to join like minded residents.
