No examination

First published in Readers' Letters

I WAS interested in the sick review/DSS meetings. I attended a review in early May. It was scheduled to last 40-60 minutes, it lasted 15 minutes. I suffer from physical, visual and mental issues.

At no time did the doctor, who was very old, examine me, never mind look at me. She asked me 10/12 questions and said I would hear the result in several weeks.

I was asked to provide proof of identity and I paid £17.50 for a birth certificate. None of my proof was looked at, so I could have been anyone.

Result: I was considered fit for work. As I say, no physical examination at all! No wonder so many people pass.

Morrigan says...

Not sure where you got your birth cert, but you were grossly overcharged for it! Copies of birth, marriage and death certs are set at a standard price by the Government at £10 each, so you've not only been conned by the "medical", but also by who ever sold you the certificate!
