SAINTS CEO Phil Parsons revealed plans to open a pub named 'The Dell' at St Mary's later in 2024.

The club have already announced plans to improve the infrastructure and matchday experience of their stadium

Parsons, who joined last summer to work under owners Sport Republic, wants the pub to celebrate the club's history.

He hopes to open an establishment in which Saints fans can meet daily, with regular events, but awaits permission from local authorities.

In a new message to supporters, Parsons said: "The infrastructure work going on over the summer will be the biggest investment in the stadium since it was built over 20 years ago.

"We have started the ongoing project of improving the stadium facilities with new fan parks and live event areas, all designed to make a matchday an even better experience for fans.

"We have also been asked to build some more varied hospitality spaces at the stadium and we will hopefully combine some boxes to create another lounge for the start of next season.

"Next year’s season tickets will offer some great upgrade opportunities for everyone to have the chance to experience hospitality spaces for some games without having to commit for the full season."

He added: "We also hope to be able to announce a new pub at the stadium opening later in the year.

"This will be a place where our fans can meet on a daily basis and we can hold regular events with a great atmosphere.

"Our thinking is this should be named 'The Dell' to ensure we remember and celebrate our history.

"We will let fans know more as soon as we can, once these plans have been signed off with local authorities."

One potential location for 'The Dell' pub is where the ticket office is currently located in the corner of the Itchen stand, on Britannia Road.
