DIANA SMITH

SMITH Diana Margaret (nee Francis) Formerly Head of English at Sholing Girls School Diana Smith passed away at Queen Alexandra Hospital Portsmouth, on Thursday 24th September, aged 88. Diana taught English for over 40 years and was Head of English at Sholing Girls School before she retired in 1992. She shared her passion for literature with many generations of pupils over the years and she will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Without a doubt, the best English teacher ever! She taught with such a passion and would bring the characters in books to life. I'm so glad I kept in touch with her and got to tell her what an impact she had on my life and those of my classmates. Rip Mrs Smith, you will be sorely missed. Xxx
