THEY are helping to build the success of the rhino extravaganza that is set to hit Southampton this summer.

Developer Crest Nicholson is the latest business to join the Go! Rhinos charge which will see life-sized rhino sculptures pop up in streets and parks across the city from July.

A total of 30 companies have signed up to Marwell Wildlife’s public art project that promises to provide a unique tourist trail through the city for ten weeks, boosting the local economy.

Susan Young from Crest Nicholson, said: “We are very excited to be involved in bringing art to life in Southampton through Go! Rhinos.

“At our Centenary Quay development we have been conscious to enrich the local area with relevant artwork and we feel Go! Rhinos will be an extension of this, showcasing the fabulous artistic talent in Southampton.”

Once they are ordered, the rhinos will get a multi-coloured makeover, ready to be showcased during the ten-week trail which starts in July.

At the end of the event, the sculptures will be auctioned off, with the proceeds being split between Marwell’s rhino conservation work, the Rose Road Association and Wessex Heartbeat's HIGH 5 Appeal.
