Hampshire coach firm Coliseum Coaches is set for a giant delivery in April, in the form of two new 53-seater coaches.

The company, based in Southampton, will use the Irizar i6 integrals for a range of day trips, holidays, corporate and schools work. They’ll also be available for members of the public to hire, complete with their own driver.

The new coaches represent a £600,000 investment for the firm, which is part of the Lucketts Group.

Managing director Tony Lawman said: “Updating our vehicle fleet is so important to us. It ensures our passengers are travelling in the latest and most comfortable vehicles. It also means we’re working with the very latest coaches in terms of vehicle emissions, driving down our carbon footprint.”

The new coaches are 13.2 metres long and feature plenty of leg room as well as seatback tables, space to store magazines, a coffee machine, lockers and a toilet. They also have CCTV, something that Tony says is becoming more and more sought-after.

“Schools in particular like to know the coaches their children travel on have CCTV,” he said. “It gives them peace of mind which is why at Coliseum we install CCTV on all of our vehicles as standard.”
