MEMBERS of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee visit the port
The Foreign Affairs Select Committee was at the Port of Southampton this month for a roundtable discussion with representatives from 19 local businesses.
The session was led by the Global Britain team and focused on getting thoughts and opinions on the foreign policy of Britain following Brexit. The meeting was held at the Port of Southampton, Gateway to the World, and attendees were invited to talk about what the UK has to offer the world following Brexit and which international organisations the UK should be most active in.
Following the session, the six Members including Tom Dugendhat (Chair), Mike Gapes MP, Chris Bryant MP, Priti Patel MP, Bob Seely MP and Royston Smith MP, then had a tour of the port from the water taking in the scale of operations at the port and understanding its key role in keeping Britain trading.
