A COLDEN Common firm of accountants, tax and business advisers has joined forces with another Hampshire firm.

Smith Newmans has undergone significant expansion after merging with long-established Andover business, Carole Judd Chartered Accountant.

The Andover practice, run by Carole Taylor, has been operating for more than 25 years in the town, providing a tax and accountancy service to a 150-plus client base, ranging from limited companies and partnerships through to sole traders and personal tax clients.

Speaking about the expansion, director of Smith Newmans, Nigel Newman said:

“This is such an exciting time for our business. I’m delighted to be working with Carole and combining our many years of financial and commercial experience to also help businesses in the north of the county grow and succeed.

“Andover is a town that is very close to my heart. I was born in the town, grew up there and have worked there in the past. I am looking forward to being involved in the local business community once again and working with businesses in the town.”

Carole Taylor added: “I’m very proud to have represented the Andover business community for the past 25 years and to have worked closely with my clients to really understand their needs and provide them with tailored advice.

“Continuing to offer this personalised service to my clients is really important to me, and now, as part of the Smith Newmans team, I’ll be able to offer them a wider range of services, such as business and cloud software advice, especially with Making Tax Digital rapidly approaching. It will also enable us to help more businesses of all sizes in the town.”

Smith Newmans is based at Leylands Farm Business Park and the Andover office is in Winchester Road.
