GRAFFITI-style artwork at a Southampton cafe is getting repainted after claims it was vandalised.
Kate Jeffcoate, Muse coffee shop manager said the incident was “a massive shame.”
The graffiti-style art on the front of the Portswood Road cafe showed the words “protect your daughter” crossed out and replaced with “educate your son.”
But the art has now been spray painted over with the words “be kind”, a notion which Ms Jeffcoate says “overshadows the real issue.”
She said: “The shop’s owner has received a letter which essentially just complied with comments we have received on Facebook - asking us not to tell individuals how to educate their children.
Despite criticism, the cafe has received support for the artwork.
“A lot of people have popped by to say how angry they are the piece was vandalised.”
