MAJOR Hampshire logistics company Import Services is celebrating after handling its 25,000th container.
The container, which travelled to Southampton docks from China, contained 28,000 games, boxed in 7,000 cartons which will be distributed to top retailers, including Argos, Toys R Us, John Lewis, Amazon and Hamleys in good time for Christmas.
Import services managing director John Eynon was standing by to receive the landmark delivery.
He recalls the company's first ever shipment.
"Our first container was full of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles models which proved very popular in the UK," he said. "Since then our expertise in handling the receipt and distribution of goods in the toys and gift market has grown from strength to strength. We are fortunate to be a dynamic and fun business. Import Services is passionate about delighting our clients and this milestone gives all of us a buzz.
Import Services has more than 280,000 sq ft of warehouse space in Nursling, Hedge End and Southampton docks and employs 65 people.
