THIS late 19th century home was the abode of the Titanic's very first captain.
Captain Herbert James Haddock was the man who Titanic first took the helm of Titanic, before it left Belfast for Southampton, where she was handed over to Captain EJ Smith for the maiden voyage.
Captain Haddock then went to take command of Olympic, which had been Smith's vessel.
Built as the 19th century gave way to the 20th, it is understood the house was built especially for Captain Haddock and his family.
It is still used as a private residence.
