KEEP your eyes on the TV screen.

Hannah Williams, Winchester’s spectacular singer on The Voice UK, will perform in the semi finals tonight (Saturday).

The 38-year-old progressed from the battle rounds after beating Sami Nathan.

Both of the performers were on Sir Tom Jones’ team – but the Welsh legend could only take one of them to the next stage.

It is unknown what song she will sing on the next round of the hit ITV show. Following the performance, the vote will then be opened and viewers invited to take their pick.

The four artists with the highest number of public votes will be announced and will represent their team in the final.

Earlier this week the University of Winchester, where Hannah studied and now works as a vocal consultant and teacher, released a video celebrating her success.

The uni’s Music Centre has released a video featuring Hannah singing soul anthem Stay With Me Baby with current and former students on backing vocals and instruments. The #TeamHannah Band and Singers video aims to raise funds for Trinity Winchester, supporting their work with vulnerable people and those affected by homelessness.

Neil Valentine, creative director at the University Music Centre, said: “We are thrilled that Hannah is doing so well on The Voice UK. We’re currently working on a second video with Hannah and are excited to confirm that her battle partner Sami Nathan is going to be part of that, as we perform our own version of their battle song Cry Me a River.

“To date we have raised nearly £700 for Trinity Winchester, and as Hannah’s profile rises we hope this will continue to build as the videos reach more people.

“We are all delighted with how current students and alumni got involved in this and continue to be inspired by Hannah’s journey.”

Hannah is a soul singer who fronts Bristol-based soul band Hannah Williams and the Affirmations.

About Hannah:

Hannah studied music theatre at the city uni between 2003 and 2006. She was also director of foundation music (now the University of Winchester Music Centre) after she graduated until a couple of years ago. She is still at the centre as a vocal consultant and teacher.

In 2017, her vocals were sampled on Jay-Z's title track 4.44.

Jay-Z is one of the best-selling musicians of all time, selling more than 100 million records and receiving 21 Grammy Awards for his music. He is also married to the Queen of pop, Beyonce.

He stumbled on the vocals by surprise and then called Hannah about sampling her track Late Nights and Heartbreak.
