WHAT could be better than leaping around the beautifully detailed rooftops of Empire City like a young freshwater salmon on an upstream journey?

How about being an all-powerful, elec tricity wielding superhero?

After a mysterious package being deliv ered by Cole McGrath explodes and oblit erates a chunk of Empire City, the people blame him for the tragedy. But the explo sion doesn’t just change the face of the city, Cole also finds himself going through some strange changes, discovering that he’s now able to harness the power of electricity and use it for good or evil.

It’s a deep, dark, mysterious void of a storyline that sucks players in through their own intrigue and unavoidable lust for answers. Cutscenes are fantastically pre sented in a true comic book fashion with the voice acting delivered in a deep, dark, gritty way that's perfectly suited to the game and completely gripping to hear.

As things progress and Cole gets stronger with more abilities and special powers than you could fire a lightning bolt at, the satisfaction of gaming hits the roof.

There’s nothing better than pulling of a combination of devastating, brutal and unstoppable moves that crush the enemy with ease and look super cool in the process.

It’s a hybrid of games such as Crackdown, Knights of the Old Republic and Assassin’s Creed. A combination that could culminate in a cocktail of perfection if mixed correctly.

The mechanics physics and gameplay raise the bar for this kind of game and is undoubtedly a milestone in open world gaming. It will have gamers instantly want ing to play through for a second time after completion, but this time to tread a darker or lighter path.

The almighty power of Hiroshima and Tunguska has nothing compared to the destructive qualities of protagonist Cole McGrath. Whether you choose to do good or bad deeds for the people that live, breathe and die in the developed but decaying metropolis is your choice. But either way expect destruction administered both brutally and beautifully that no PlayStation 3 owner should miss out on.
